Hemorrhoids are blood vessels located in the lower part of the anus and rectum, similar to varicose veins, which have become enlarged due to pressure within them.

  • They can last for several years or for a life time.

  • They are typically brought on by straining during a bowel movement, pregnancy or obesity.

  • Symptoms can include discomfort, itching, or even bleeding while sitting or during bowel movements.

  • The most common indication of hemorrhoids is painless bleeding, and bright red blood outside of stool.

  • Hemorrhoids can be removed with a surgical procedure, however…

We offer several methods of naturally treating hemorrhoids:

Psyllium Husks

Psyllium husks are excellent for hemorrhoids due to the fact that they soften stools. The amount of fiber that a single serving has is mind-blowing. Adding psyllium husks to your diet will reduce strain on hemorrhoids until they gradually disappear.

Moisturizing

Moisturizing is great for alleviating hemorrhoids, while dryness on the other hand worsens them. When wiping the hemorrhoids it is best to use a moistened tissue instead of a dry tissue.  In addition to wiping with a moistened tissue, applying vitamin E to the area can sooth the hemorrhoids and increase the recovery speed.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is a natural anti-inflammatory plant that speeds up healing and moisturizes; adding aloe vera to hemorrhoids will be very effective.  For a twofer, freeze peeled aloe vera leaves and apply to hemorrhoids; the combination of the two gives you a cold compress along with the anti-inflammatory property of the aloe vera.

Lemon Juice

Whether the lemon juice is applied topically or consumed, it is very effective in treating hemorrhoids. You can also freeze the lemon juice and apply it to area for the twofer of a cold compress and the anti-inflammatory property of the lemon juice.  Make a tea with lemon juice, warm water, ginger and honey.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil has been medically proven to reduce inflammation. When applying tea tree oil make sure to dilute it with a not-so-potent oil for best results; plain tea tree oil is very powerful. Regularly dressing hemorrhoids with tea tree oil will shrink them until they fade completely.

Immersing in an Epsom salt bathtub

Before bathing, add Epsom salt to the warm water. Epsom salt is a great pain reliever and it is great for reducing inflammation. Regularly bathing in Epsom salt will reduce the size of the hemorrhoids until they eventually fade completely.
